A buyer recruitment roadshow for the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, on August 14. The event attracted 35 exhibitors including MSD, Johnson & Johnson, Boston Scientific, GE Healthcare, Medtronic, Organon, Abbott, IKEA, Tempur, ESTEEM, WINZA Jewelry, Joy Wing Mau, Goodfarmer, Secco, Fonterra, Standard Chartered Bank, DHL, MSC, and EGO. Over 140 local buyers attended the event, establishing ties and laying the foundation for future cooperation.

Li Guoqing, deputy director-general of the CIIE Bureau, said that over the past seven years, the expo has fully leveraged its role as a major platform for international procurement, investment promotion, people-to-people exchanges, and open cooperation. Preparations for the eighth CIIE are progressing steadily. The exhibition will feature enriched content. The Corporate Pavilion will optimize zone layouts and thematic displays to drive technological innovation and industrial upgrading, fostering new quality productive forces. Targeted matchmaking will expand professional visitor invitations in key sectors through multi-scenario matchmaking activities to improve transaction efficiency. Attendee experience will be elevated through upgraded buyer services, streamlined visit procedures, and improved signing environments. Activities themed on food, quality products, and arts will also be organized to enhance cultural exchanges during the expo. These initiatives will integrate culture, tourism, commerce, sports, exhibitions, and facilitate mutual learning among global civilizations.

Liu Zhen, general manager of Liaoning Xinlongjia Modern Agriculture Co Ltd, said Xinlongjia has actively participated in the CIIE for three consecutive editions, securing procurement contracts through this high-efficiency platform. By leveraging the CIIE, the company has established stable cooperative partnerships and achieved its strategic goal of cutting out intermediaries to directly source from premium producers.

During the roadshow, the CIIE Bureau signed memorandums of cooperation with VIP buyers Shenyang Jierun Trading Co Ltd, Deshi Group, Shenyang Grain&Oil Group Co Ltd, Shenyang Canmei Trading Co Ltd, Shenyang Beishilang General Merchandise Trading Co Ltd.

After the roadshow, representatives of the exhibitors visited local key units including Beauty Supermarket, Shengjing Outlets, Shengjing Hospital of China Medical University and Neusoft Medical.

The event was hosted by the CIIE Bureau, Department of Commerce of Liaoning Province, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), with support from Bank of China Liaoning Branch.
