Buyer recruitment roadshow held in Tianjin for the eighth CIIE
A buyer recruitment roadshow for the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) was held in Tianjin on July 17. The event attracted 12 exhibitors including IKEA, OUJI, Joy Wing Mau, Canada International Trade Promotion Society, Deloitte, UPS, and EGO. Over 110 local buyers joined the roadshow, establishing ties and laying foundation for future cooperation.

Song Shangzhe from the CIIE Bureau said that the eighth CIIE and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum will be held during Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai. Preparations are now fully underway and progressing steadily. The Corporate Pavilion has been upgraded in quality, featuring further optimized exhibition areas and special sections. It will spotlight globally leading products, technologies, and services, enriching and innovating exhibition content. For buyers recruitment, efforts are being made to optimize professional visitor organization, deepen supply-demand matching across multiple scenarios. Also, the CIIE Bureau has started to accept applications for side events. The Hongqiao Forum will host the main forum, release the World Openness Report 2025 along with the latest World Openness Index. Over 20 parallel sessions and closed meetings will be organized during the forum, focusing on topics such as revitalizing multilateral cooperation, empowering digital intelligence, green and sustainable development, and a more open China.
Liang Nan, Level-2 inspector of Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Commerce, emphasized that the annual "CIIE commitment" provides Tianjin with invaluable opportunities to connect global resources and empower industrial upgrading. As a northern international shipping hub and consumption center, Tianjin will leverage the CIIE to showcase its development concept of openness, cooperation, innovation, and sharing to the world.
Ma Hongwei, Level-2 inspector of the Special Commissioner Office of the Ministry of Commerce in Tianjin, said that as the ministry's permanent establishment in north China, the office will actively promote CIIE policies and recruit buyers while providing quality services to the expo's participants.
Zhang Jing, deputy general manager of Bank of China Tianjin Branch, affirmed that the branch will integrate proactively into the broader economic and social development, fully utilize the CIIE platform, and provide comprehensive services to foreign trade, foreign-funded, and foreign economic cooperation enterprises, nurturing more cooperative outcomes with financial solutions.
During the event, the CIIE Bureau signed memorandums of cooperation with VIP buyers Tianjin Yutai Yuanheng International Trading Co Ltd, Hejia Shengshi (Tianjin) International Supply Chain Co Ltd, Tianjin Food Supply Chain Group, SLF Supply Chain Management (Tianjin) Co Ltd.
The event was hosted by the CIIE Bureau, Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), with support from Bank of China Tianjin Branch.
After the roadshow, representatives from the exhibitors visited Tianjin Seagull Industrial Park to learn about the business environment.
